Atlanta Rhythm Section’s So Into You

The Atlanta Rhythm Sections So Into You

Soft Rock Music

Sometimes you see someone and you’re instantly in love (or desire) — obsessed. But you can’t make someone love you. You can only hope. The song was written by the group’s producer and vocalist Buddy Buie, keyboardist Dean Daughtry, and drummer Robert Nix. The track appeared on their 1976 album A Rock and Roll Alternative. It was released as a single in January 1977, backed with “Everybody Gotta Go.” The song became their biggest hit, rising to #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #5 on Cash Box, #11 on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart, and #2 in Canada. It also was popular in Australia and New Zealand.

Atlanta Rhythm Section is a Southern rock band that formed in 1971 in Doraville, Georgia. They were mainly former members of the Candymen  and Classics IV, who became a session band for Studio One in Doraville, which is near Atlanta, and then their own band. On “So Into You” are Barry Bailey (guitar), Buddy Buie (vocals), J.R. Cobb (rhythm guitar, vocals), Dean Daughtry (keyboards, (Paul Goddard (bass), Ronnie Hammond (vocals), and Robert Nix (percussions drums, vocals). The group was popular in the Southern states and less so nationally. They are considered to be pioneers of Southern rock and continue to tour and perform.

Here are the lyrics to “So Into You” by Atlanta Rhythm Section:

When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly
Hoping you’ll get into me

I am so into you
I can’t think of nothing else
I am so into you
I can’t think of nothing else

Thinking how it’s gonna to be
Whenever I get you next to me
It’s gonna be good don’t you know
From your head to your toe
Gonna love you all over, over and over
Me into you, you into me, me into you
I’m so into you
I’m so into you ooh

When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly, yeah
Hoping you’ll get into me
I am so into you
I can’t get to nothing else
I am so into you
I can’t get to nothing else

I am so into you, baby
I can’t get to nothing else

No no no come on baby
I’m so into you
Love the things you do

Listen baby
Driving me crazy
Come on baby
I’m so into you
Love the things you do
I’m so into you

I’m so into you, baby

I’m so into you
